Warning for UK fans

Hello guys and gals!!

Just a little heads up concerning the new Paramount Friday DVD’s.

Sadly in the UK parts 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 have allready been released with brand new (if very bare) cover art, however DO NOT EXPECT ANY SPECIAL FEATURES. They are all pretty much bare bones discs. So don’t be picking them up expecting Adam Green commentary tracks as you won’t find them on these. My advice is wait for the US editions.

  1. THANKS FOR THE WARNING, AND AS USUAL, WE ALWAYS GET THE SHIT END OF THE STICK WHEN IT COMES TO DVD RELEASES.
ITS NOT VERY OFTEN WE GET A BETTER RELEASE ON R-2.
THATS WHY HALF OF MY COLLECTION IS R-1.

  2. Alredy knew that, not even in 5.1 either, still mono. Paramount can go fuck themselves! Thanks anyway.

  3. Whoa, this Yank is so sorry to hear that once again the UK & Republic of Ireland get’s the shit when it comes to home theater sound mix (once again still the crackling and super-shit Mono soundtrack) and with the lack of special features.

I agree: Cashamount can go fuck itself. Blah …

  4. Oops, I originally ment to say “get’s the shift” up there, but hey, I guess and take it that shit works as well, huh? ;) Sorry …

  5. a buddy of mine told me today he heard something about old cut footage being recovered from the vaults and paramount is working on something top secret apparantly? i heard that when the special edition of part 4 is released to “expect a huge surprise” for it and the sequels. if anybody knows something about this please let me know - let all of us know! once i get more info ill let you all know !

  6. Does that include australia???

  7. We are getting used to being crapped on with dvds :(

I just dont get it why do parts 123 with special features and then just do bare bones with the others…
It would be nice to for them to do it with every special feature deleted footage etc on every film :)

  8. Anything but Region One is a joke… I am in New Zealand (region 4) and after waiting patiently for the special edition of Part 3 in 3D… then I found out it was not going to be in 3D. Talk about missing the point! Finally gave up and got it of Amazon!

  9. That’s sad to have to hear, Brenton.

I feel as a North American (region-1/NTSC discs) that we to get of course a ton of cool shit, but cause of often total bullshit copyright laws and of film studios simply being overtly ignorant and not knowing what is all in they’re vaults, that many things often take YEARS to get re-released on the home video formats here. Always wish I knew more about such things and the inside of the marketing way of thinking.

By t he way, since your a Kiwi, you should check out topercat’s (Trevor) channel on YouTube. A damn good Kiwi friend of mine who reviews (often imported) genre DVDs. Great accent and over all demeaner of the guy. Later …

  10. The UK release of Part 3 contains Special Features that’s not on the region 1 release. Isn’t that weird? Paramount just trying to force us to buy more dvd’s if we want all the new special features.

I live in Sweden and we get nothing. Not even the boxset or the new Deluxe Editions. I don’t care much. I buy most of my dvd’s from US retailers anyway…

  11. We may have a few special features on the UK release of Part 3 but we’ve sacrificed the 3-D in place of them. I stick to r1 whenever I can

  12. Typical!!! :P to paramount!!!!! And worse!!

  13. :< Shame. Not very surprising though; UK DVDs are always rubbish for extras. Guess i am just buying from abroad again.

  14. i love the cover art!

  15. thats messed up

  16. Why is it that the only R2 DVD that actually got a better release than the US version is Creepshow?

  17. The cover art on the uk releases looks great…but i prefeer the original ones.
