  1. Ken is such a chickenshit. needed a stunt double for him.

  2. Douglas Tait should have played Jason in the whole movie. He was better at his moves then Ken was.

  3. Ken is a Canadian puss, Tait is a Fuckin cool guy. I wish he did the whole film also.

  4. Hold up on the negativity everyone. From what has been told so far, it was Ronny Yu’s call for Ken to not do certain scenes. Doug did a great job, but he was only in one scene at the very, very end of the film.

I know Ken Kirzinger’s take on Jason seems to be the least favorite, but I wonder how much of that is Ken’s fault? Perhaps Yu wanted Jason that way.

  5. Yeah, I don’t care for how Ken portrayed Jason either…but the filmmakers intentionally wanted him to be Frankenstein-like. He’s not Kane Hodder, who had his own ideas about how Jason should be played…Ken’s a stuntman, who was just doing what he was told to do.

Anyway, I think it’s cool that Douglas is getting some recognition. I respect all Jason actors, regardless of how short their scenes were…besides, he looked so cool rising above the water holding Freddy’s head. Definitely one of the best images in the series.

  6. I am not going to bash Ken, but I think it takes a certain kind of actor to bring movements to life under a mask. Ken is a stuntman and he was stiff, and it didn’t work. Douglas Tait and Derek Mears are both actors first, with stunt experience. They both have played a lot of characters with makeup and masks on, and they are good at it. Kane also had a lot of experience behind makeup even before Jason, that is why he was so good also. Tait and Mears both played these cool Zorgon lizards together in Zathura. This was before Derek was Jason Vorhees.

  7. Kane Hodder was the ultimate Jason, in my opinion, but I liked the Jason we got in Freddy vs Jason other than the fact he looked big and clumsy. He was alright. Most people will have no idea who Tait is since he wasn’t credited as Jason.

  8. I never knew Tait played Jason until recently. I was aware of him from the character he played in Star Trek. He seems to have been doing conventions this past year, but I don’t think he did them before. Also, I don’t think they are able to credit 2 people as Jason either, so they gave him a Jason Stunt Double credit. Here is a cool pic from the Long Face guy he played in Star Trek.

  9. Some think Douglas is better than Ken? Really?? How can some say that when Douglas hardly did anything compare to Ken? Some of you didn’t even know that was him until now. If Douglas was Jason than Ken, you all would bash him too as long he is being told what to do by Ronny Yu. If Ken was given a lot of freedom as Jason than Yu telling him everything, he would’ve been a lot better. And pussy? I like to see some of you so-call tough guys on the Internet say it to his face. Probably too much of a pussy to do so instead. :D

And Cash, Ken is an actor too. He done work on X-Files & few others tv/films where you see him as an actor & not just a stuntman.

  10. Sounds like fun.
