An up close look at the Friday the 13th (2009) Living Dead Doll

Most of those involved in the horror memorabilia collecting community are at least familiar with the Living Dead Dolls. The Living Dead Dolls rank among the most creative and unique pieces that fill the shelves of horror fans. In recent months, the Living Dead Dolls spilled over into the horror film community thanks to the relationship with Mezco Toyz. That relationship enabled many of our favorite horror icons such as, Leatherface, soon to be Michael Myers, and our very own Jason Voorhees to be made into “cute but deadly” form.

Jason made a previous appearance in this series in the guise of “Part 3″ Jason. It was only fitting that Jason appear once again as a Living Dead Doll, this time in the form of the 2024 Platinum Dunes remake Jason.

Once again, the attention to detail on this incarnation of Jason is just amazing. The clothes are stitched very well and closely resemble the attire worn by Jason in the film, all the while maintaining the “cuteness” that a Living Dead Doll should maintain. The clothing appears torn and tattered as it should, as well as weathered and worn.

The parts of the figure that are painted are nicely done as always. The babyish version of the mask is the same sculpt as featured on the previous LLD, but the paint job matches that of the film very well! The boots are blood stained and the skin tone is a much darker and dirtier look than the previous Jason.

Jason also contains rooted hair which is placed very well. The mask is removable, though it’s not recommended being as though it is actually glued into place. If your curiosity is getting the best of you as to what Jason looks like under the mask, look no further than the previous Living Dead Doll, as it’s the exact same sculpt.

If you’re a fan of Jason, or a fan of Living Dead Dolls in general, be sure to pick this up. It’s about the closest Jason will ever come to being…cute.
