More Cabin Meat

New Friday April 12th, 2024

I’ve not included pictures (hit up the IMDB links) because we all know it doesn’t matter what Jason’s victims look like alive, it’s how they look dead (or naked, or dead and naked) that counts. Ch-Ch-Ch Muahaha. Source BD:

21-year-old Danielle Panabaker (Mr. Brooks, Sky High), Aaron Yoo (Disturbia, 21) and Travis Van Winkle (Transformers, Left in Darkness, Asylum) are the latest camp counselors to enroll at Camp Crystal Lake.

Finally Jason will have his first oriental victim (I think)!

  2. jk Says:

nope, already been done, and that kid is a dork. Can’t wait 2 see him die

  3. John Says:

I cannot wait to see these people die. I agree the oriental kid is a bad actor. He can’t act at all. One of the deaths I hope they bring back, is the one where in the original, Alice discovers Bill with all of those arrows sticking out of his body. I think it would be cool to actually see Jason ram a bunch of arrows through his body onscreen instead of having it an offscreen death.

  4. Chris Says:

Jason already killed an oriental character. Remember Jason takes Manhattan? he kills that japanese girl, the friend of the token slut, he strangled her on the dancefloor…

  5. Dave Dunwoody Says:

Awesome with the blog format. None of these faces really bend me either way, just have to wait and see what the characters have got to work with.

  6. Dusk Says:

Did he die in DISTURBIA? I forget. I really disliked that flick in cinemas, but am starting to warm to it. It’s more a DVD watch-in-your-bedroom type flick anyway.

  7. Boof jigga Says:

He did not die in Disturbia. He gets hit with a bat, but does not die …. somehow.

  8. eXile Says:

I don’t know much about any of the actors, but does it really matter if all they’re going to be is fodder for Jason? It would be nice to see a Friday with some likeable characters, whom the audience actually cares about, but I think that’s probably a just a pipe dream.

By the way, Kelly Hu is not Japanese.

  9. Jenosis Says:

Willa Ford might be in the movie too?

HEY FOLKS. I’M NEW HERE, IN FACT, THIS IS MY VERY FIRST POST. ANYWAYS, I HAVE A QUESTION THAT IS PROBABLY COMMON KNOWLEDGE TO MOST OF YOU, BUT I REALLY NEED TO KNOW. I HAVE THE FRIDAY DVD BOXED SET, AND HAVE HEARD THAT MANY OF THE FILMS WERE CUT FOR CONTENT OR WERE NOT THE ORIGINAL VERSIONS. WERE THE OLD VHS TAPES OR EVEN LASER DISCS “UNCUT” OR AT LEAST INCLUDE MORE OF THE GORE OR WHATEVER WAS SUPPOSEDLY CUT FROM THE BOXED SET? I JUST WANT TO BUY THE MOST COMPLETE VERSIONS OF EACH OF THE FILMS AND WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INFO YOU FOLKS COULD GIVE. THANKS IN ADVANCE!

I am liking the cast so far.

I am not sure I like the spoilers so far from the script..
ie. the looking for the pot in the woods (sounds silly)
    and the underground tunnels.

    what does everyone else think?

I do have high hopes for this film, but I am a little worried.

  12. Uncle John Says:

Massad, Jason actually killed Kelly Hu in JASON TAKES MANHATTAN, so Aaron Yoo won’t be his first Asian victim.

  13. Christian Says:

Fingers crossed that the franchise recovers after the camp (no pun intended!) mess that was Freddy vs. Jason. If nothing else, it will boast one of the sexiest casts so far. And Hodder fanatics may be clenching their teeth at the news of his absence once again, but I think Derek Mears has the potential to make Jason scary again. My main reservation has been the involvement of MTV - surely they have no business making horror films (see Beneath for a perfect example!). But - countless remakes aside - maybe this is the perfect time for Friday the 13th to reinvent itself. And on that note… bring it on!

    Bryan,

The versions in the boxed set are the same versions as the old VHS, BetaMax, and LaserDisc versions, with the exception of the original Friday the 13th, which somehow had some footage of Mrs. Voorhees’ death cut a little bit, and some of Annie’s death that was cut was restored. Every other film is the same as the theatrical cut on all home versions.

  15. Christian Says:

Bryan, the region 2 version of Friday the 13th is uncut, as is the region 1 special edition of Jason Goes to Hell. Aside from that, The Final Chapter is the most complete movie, as Paramount were put under a lot of pressure to edit the movies and are still yet to release them uncut (Warner owns the foreign rights for part 1, New Line for JGTH, which is why they are the only fully uncut ones). Hopefully the remake will convince the studio to re-release them uncut, with the third in 3-D. He can hope!

  16. chris Says:

buechler and all of us fans need to march into paramount, and not leave until part VII is released uncut. from what ive seen from workprints, it\’s by far the best gore and effects in the series next to the master savini. fuck it, new line needs to buy the title out and release a real box set, not the joke thats floating around wasting peoples money.

  17. Christian Says:

All the sequels need to be released uncut by Paramount. To say the gory FX are the selling point of the franchise (plot and character take second place) they need to give fans exactly what they want! I doubt any of the directors care that much about them now but if New Line and Paramount are keen on cashing in on the remake now would be the perfect time to release them all as special editions uncut with documentaries and other cool extras. But Paramount have always been a little tardy with bonus features on their DVDs.
