I just hope they do a good job with this film. I read that John Carpenter signed off on it giving it the OK so I hope he liked what they brought to him.

It's an interesting approach and I like Mary Elizabeth Winstead, I'll check it out.

I'm a fan of The Thing and I'll be looking forward to a prequel. Would be great if they got John Carpenter to direct!

I absolutely Love John Carpenter but sadly I just don't like his past 80's movies as much. I know he has a couple movies coming up I just hope they are good.

The prequel is directed by Matthijs van Heijningen Jr. I think it's his first movie.

I may see it in the theater or wait for the blu-ray. I haven't decided that yet, but if I am still alive and able, I'll be seeing it either way.

Probably not. I'm satisfied with the 1982 John Carpenter movie, and don't really care about what happened before the American team finds the Thing.

I hate remakes and prequals, so I won't rush to see this one. I'll end up watching it sooner or later though, I always do.

No! They should not make a prequel to The Thing. It's pointless.I think they just should leave it well alone to be honest. John Carpenter's The Thing is such a classic movie to watch. I remember when I bought The Thing on DVD the same day I bought Psycho & The Texas Chainsaw Massacare on DVD.

I think they could do a prequel to the thing, if they do it right...i think it could work..

The thing (John Carpenter's Version) Is by far one of the scariest movies i've seen, those morphing scenes, with the dog, is just freaky as hell!! one of my favorite movies ever!

Martin-horror, I hate to keep giving ya a hard time buddy, you say no to a prequel of the thing, but a prequel to friday the 13th is a good idea?? ... friday the 13th's story was set with the original, no prequel is required for F13th. The thing, is a great movie, and there is room for a back story to it...thats my opinion.. ;)

Hey it's ok Sheriff_Garris im a easy person to get on with & I dont take things to heart & the end of the day we all have our own say & I dont even feel you are giving me a hard but at least your honest on what you say buddy. Dont worrie it's cool! I dont think it's a good idea for a prequel for this type of a film. Well if they do make the prequel the right way then it's fine. I would hate if they make it dull. Im a big fan of John Carpenter's The Thing & I also think it is his 2nd best horror film after Halloween. But if it dose get made then well hope they prove me wrong & I do really hope it's just as good as the original. Yes Sheriff_Garris I would love to see a prequel to the original Friday the 13th series as we seen so many great sequels so I cant see any harm for a prequel for Friday the 13th & it be very interesting to see Jason growing up in the woods. Jason could still be a killer. After Jason knew mum killed the two camp counselors Jason wants to get his revenge on the kids that bullied & pushed him in the lake & Jason killing them making each kill look like a freak accident. Simple

Just because there's room for a backstory doesn't mean there's a need for one. I for one prefer to have a little mystery rather than having everything explained to me.

Well Camp Blood Tenant I agree with you there. There is no need to have prequel to this classic & I also prefer to have a mystery to this too. If they do make the prequel to The Thing I hope it's has a good smart start to the film. I really would prefer a prequel to Friday the 13th to be honest.
