I think what martin was meaning(at least my interpretation) is that he would like for the Reboot sequel to be like The Final Chapter. As in the same tone, atmosphere, etc. What's with the "bashing" on this forum? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on the franchise & what they want to see happen with this franchise. No person's thoughts or ideas are any greater than the next person's, so please respect that. Friday is the greatest franchise in horror, because it's so diverse in it's fanbase. Every fan has their own reason's for liking what they do about the franchise. If everybody thought & liked the exact same things, we would have nothing to discuss..Which would be pretty boring.

First off dude, get your story straight....because nobody is bashing anybody. I define bashing as throwing out insults and such! As you said we are all entitled to our opinions and I damn well voiced mine. So good day!

Well Dude...It just seems there's a handful of people that think that their opinion is set in stone, like they wrote the "Friday the 13th Bible" or something. When I say "Bashing", I mean being critical of what ideas or thoughts others have.

I don't get the vibe that anybody here thinks that their opinion is set in stone. Just because someone is critical of another persons' ideas doesn't mean that they're bashing them. Have you ever thought that just maybe these "ideas" are becoming random by the minute ? Not to mention the excessive amounts of bandwidth that these "ideas" take up!

I believe the reboot is way better than more than half of the films. My fave is 6. Next is 4. After that, its up in the air. Part 3 was the first one I ever saw so it has a special place in my heart.

Reboot rocked. Mears rules. If they don't use him for a future movie, that would be a huge mistake. Whoever at Platinum Dunes ok'd him, did a great job.

In Friday part 2, did Jason set that trap that swung that guy upside down?

At risk of being "the odd man out"- I hated the reboot. I guess the fundimental reason for me is that, I grew up with the originals coming out every yr on vhs. Allthough, some were not as good as others.. I"m thinking 5,7 and 8. With these films, you grew to have a certain "expectation" - you knew the drill, you knew a certain "formula" that the film would remain faithful to.

Maybe I'm getting old/er and a bit cynical- but I liked my movies- just the way they were- a time capsual from an era when slasher films looked up to the friday franchise as their own benchmark. I also understand the reboot is paying homage to the 1st 4 parts.. I thought the direction change.. eg hillbilly jason and his tunnells.. was way off..(see above comment bout getting old and whinging)- for me a big departure from the storylines of old. Perhaps the writers went down the path of part 3..and wanted to humanise jason more.. I understand that.. I just did'nt like it.

I also fully understand the writers bringing jason, to a new crowd- a new generation, i just think they could have delved into the history a bit more.Ok guys enough of me pissing and moaning.. just putting my 2 cents worth in..
