Peter Mensah - "Sgt. Brodski"

Los Angeles, CA 90048
Biography: "Peter Mensah has been doing marital arts since he was 6 years old, growing up in St. Albans, England, just north of London. Mensah, who is in his early 30s, has only been acting for seven years. A former engineer, Mensah came to Canada 11 years ago. He'd worked for British Gas developing gas fields at Morecomb Bay and had done theatre in school.
Mensah emigrated from Britain to see the world and it was a toss up whether his destination would be Canada or Australia. The paperwork for Canada came through first. He is quoted as saying, 'I am insatiably curious. Acting suits my personality.'" - Peter Mensah Fan Site
Quote: "I grew up in England, and I was eight years old when I did my first school play. I stayed pretty much on the stage until I came to Canada. I'd spent my summers in the South of France and Italy, and gotten to know that part of Europe so well that the next frontier was either Canada or Australia or something like that. I went to Canada and fell in love with it.|
I think the Friday the 13th movies and Freddy Krueger - you could find them in England, although usually a year or two after their release in the U.S. Still, it wasn't a genre that I had paid enormous attention to, admittedly. But I was just happy to have gotten a role that I don't think was meant for a black actor. And Brodski is not a name you would usually expect to have a British accent." - pg. 249, Crystal Lake Memories
