Does this mean Amanda is totally out? or just moved to another role?

I prefer Danielle as the lead female.

  2. Coli Says:

No obviously it means she is out. Sorry but I’d much rather have Amanda as the lead. Sad news to me this, but good luck to that Danielle girl. I just thought Amanda had the look nailed down for a Friday girl.

I was wondering the same thing. I’m really not familiar with any of these people except Jared Padalecki and Willa Ford (If it’s true she’s in this). Hope they do some justice with this remake. The franchise needs a good reboot and casting not-so-famous celebrities is a good way to make this one stand out. Aside from the 2024 TCM remake and The Hills Have Eyes remake, there haven’t been many decent ones to hit the screen in a while.

Projects | Danielle Panabaker cast in “Friday the 13th” remake

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Danielle Panabaker has been cast as the female lead in the “Friday the 13th” remake, a project which Marcus Nispel is directing for Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes and New Line Cinema.

It was previously reported that Amanda Righetti was cast as the female lead in the film. No word yet on whether Panabaker is replacing Righetti or if they are in two separate roles.

Also joining the cast are Jonathan Sadowski, Travis van Winkle and Aaron Yoo. Jared Padalecki has already been cast as the lead male. (source)

is harry manfredini still alive?if he is i hope he does the score for this movie….what about stockard channing playing mrs. voorhees

  6. Yootsi Says:

She kinda look like young Adrienne King.

  7. Christian Says:

Amanda Righetti is still involved with FRIDAY THE 13TH. I just contacted her PR regarding the rumours of her being replaced and his reply was “That is not true – she is currently in pre-production and is one of the female leads.”

Awesome to know she is still being apart of Friday the 13th, it only looks like she will be one of Jason’s many victims and not the survivor girl. I think Harry Manfredini’s score should be used and revamped by his touchings and not someone else, his music proved to be effective and moody in the earlier films, especially with what he did in part 3. Very creepy.

  9. Christian Says:

Harry Manfredini said back in February I think that he would love to return after his absence in Freddy vs. Jason but he said at that point no one had approached him. Not spoken to him since, but as New Line wanted to ‘clean house’ with the last movie, and now want to reinvent the series, I doubt they’ll bring anyone from the previous films. I feel that Sean S. Cunningham is only listed on IMDb because he convinced New Line to revamp the franchise with Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X. Unfortunately we’re going to have to accept that Platinum Dunes is making this movie for the modern audience, not us old jaded Jason fans, so we’re going to have to move with the times or we’re not going to like this movie.

  10. John Says:

Well maybe this is a good thing, bring in new fans and make them curious about the franchise. If they like what they see with the new film, they would want to check out the old films as well, now I’m talking about fans who have never heard of Friday the 13th, I’m talking about the ones whose parents tried so desperately to keep them from discovering the Friday the 13th franchise. I heard that there was some new interest in the Friday the 13th franchise, I’m just hoping it’s enough to keep more movies coming out, besides the movies I would like to see more novels, I would not mind taking a crack shot at a Friday the 13th novel. I just don’t know who to turn to, I know Wildstorm is making more comics, but back to the topic of the new movie, it’s sad that Harry was not approached to do the score for this film, he could’ve revamped the music if he wanted to. I understand if the studio wants nothing but newbies to reinvent the series, but at least have someone from the old franchise on board for some creative consulting. I’ll just take it as it comes, filming begins next week and I’m excited as Hell, I’m wondering if they had already gotten all they had wanted for this film, I read somewhere there was a count of thirteen people who would be cast to play the victims. Anymore new info?
